Strix
move house then... In about 300 years time your great great great great great great grandkids will be able to visit the resort of doncaster when the tides rise..lol Our garden in Doncaster was full of sand... presumably from the time when it was much closer to the sea. Bawtry was once a port PT - It is Southport, but google street view will show you how very different Southport and Blackpool are! Southport's a bit short of seaside tat

Southport's a bit short of seaside tat Southport definitely seems more genteel, Strix. Although a "google-walk" along the seafront shows a JJB Sports type shop which is labelled as the open air swimming pool (closed 1989) A friend has recommended St Annes as a nice quiet resort, without much "yobbishness" (one of the things I dislike Skegvegas for)

Cleethorpes has a Doncaster postcode, therefore Doncaster does actually have a coastline.

NoddyHolder
Skegvegas or Cleethorpes are both about the same distance in mileage, both approx 90 miles. Cleethorpes has the advantage of the motorway speeding up journey times. They are both about the nearest. Cleethorpes 90 miles !!!! you wanna get you speedo checked ..Sheffield(center) to Cleethorpes 71.2 miles...Sheffiel (center )to Skegness 88.7 miles
