Shoe stretching?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ever used Timpsons (or anywhere elses) shoe stretching service? Does it actually work?

My son badly broke his leg a few months ago and has had to have screws in his ankle. This has meant hes had a bit of extra bone growth and his right foot is now a bit bigger than the left.

He loves his trainers, but is now left with 6 pairs of Converse etc that he cant wear because they hurt his toes. Ive bought him a new pair of school shoes, but I obviously cant afford to replace them all. Theres also the issue with new pairs that the left one would be too big!

Thanks :)

You can buy a sort of shoe-tree thing, that you can put in the shoe/ boot that has attachments which will stretch the shoes over lumps and bumps like bunions etc, and have a screw mechanism that will widen the shoe. If you have multiple pairs of shoes to stretch, it will probably work out cheaper than paying a cobbler to stretch a number of shoes?
