Find a place that just does MOTs and no other work. They have no incentive to make up advisorys/fails since they won't be doing the work.

 

The MOT Centre, Broadfield Road, Heeley just does MOT tests.

I recommend Meadowhall Motors.

 

£40 back in February. They're a testing station only I think.

But they do,do work,they ripped me off for £160.00 saying my emissions were too high. I left it with them an hour later i get a call saying " its just crept under "

Thorpey`s tend to be a bit keen even though they dont do repairs . Remember even if the garage only do tests and no repairs you can still find yourself facing a big repair bill because of an overly keen tester. I used them once because of them being local to me , but never again.

Yes even if they are keen it is your safety they are looking at not just the pound signs

 

I like them you can stand and watch and they will show the faults

We've always used Amberley garage on Attercliffe Common for repairs and service/MOT. Never had any problems with them.

I'd avoid Amberley at all costs. Used them twice. The first time they fitted the wrong exhaust (they did then get and fit the correct one; blamed the suppliers). The second time they bodged a bulb replacement which ultimately led to me needing a new headlamp unit at great expense.

DOT MOT have always been good with me. My old banger got through four years running without a single service. Probably used them six times now with no fails.
