RaceAce Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Hi All - I'm new to Sheffield and am looking for a cheap MOT at an honest garage in the area. Anybody have any recommendations please? Thanks!
Resident Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Find a place that just does MOTs and no other work. They have no incentive to make up advisorys/fails since they won't be doing the work.
TJH12 Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 We've always used Amberley garage on Attercliffe Common for repairs and service/MOT. Never had any problems with them.
orchis Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 derbyshire lane service station really good garage not especially cheap but totally honest.
neuon2003 Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 The MOT Centre, Broadfield Road, Heeley just does MOT tests.
charlotta Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 I always go to Atkinsons on Oakland Road, Hillsborough.
Penistone999 Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Avoid the larger testing garages like dealerships as they tend to be very picky and look for every tiny fault they can fail it on. You are better off at a small back street garage that might not be so nosy .

You can always trust traders who cut corners. Especially those related to personal safety. Go on, knock yourself out.... erm... sorry.

Cutting corners or just Not looking for faults that dont exist so they can charge you £50 per hour labour + parts to do the "Repairs" . ?
