These are from a set of magic lantern slides which were exhibited for a couple of decades after the flood and then forgotten they were rediscovered and published in this book 'The Great Sheffield Flood 1864: A Collection of Lantern Slides and Accompanying Text' - E. G. Draper (1995 which may still be available.

Here is an article about it:

The author's research was a bit lame, she claimed there was no memorial for the great flood. If she had opened her eyes, she would have found that the memorial is down Millsands :)

I'm looking for educational resources on the Great Sheffield Flood - particularly a mock up of the area - does anything exist anywhere?

Thanks
