Broken lamp post on Chesterfield Road: used to amuse

Recommended Posts

Couldn't help noticing that the broken lamp post on Chesterfield Road, outside Ponsford's, has become a blank canvas for local creative types.

A couple of weeks ago tinfoil fins were added to turn it into a missile, and this week it's been painted to look like a lit cigarette stubbed out on the pavement.

I love these little pieces of quiet creativity. Whoever's doing it, keep up the good work - it makes me smile every time I go past, and I'm looking forward to seeing what's next.

Glad I'm not alone in my appreciation :)

BTW: If any mods can think of a way to make my title clearer, I'd appreciate it. I meant 'used to amuse' as in 'it is being used to amuse,' not 'it used to amuse me but doesn't any more.'

I've had no sleep. Help.

I'd love to see a photo of this, if anyone has one! :)

Sorry, generally driving past at busy times of day. I was hoping someone here would know what I was talking about and would have been photographing them. I only ever got quick glimpses of the missile, and I loved that someone had taken the time to make fins and wrap them in foil and stick them on...
