4am. Demolition noise from Don Valley area ?

Recommended Posts

Been hearing this from around 2am, though it could have started earlier as i were watching a war film. Sounds like a mortar battle, or scrap being dropped from a great height. Thought it was the DVS being demolished, but aren't they taking it apart bit by bit to sell it on ?

Last i knew they were still taking the seats out rather slowly, viewed daily from the tram. They decided to nuke it ?

This isn't the usual drop hammer sound btw, i'm very used to hearing that. :)

Yep I live on Wincobank Hill have done all my life & I well know what Forgemasters sounds like. This "new" sound started one night last week. It sounds like hollow tubes (maybe) been dropped from a height over & over again.

I posted on my FB asking if anyone knew what it was but got the obligatory steel works replies.

If it Is the steel works it's not a sound I've heard from there before.

I once heard a noise similar to what you describe early one Sunday morning and it turned out to be scaffolders several streets away.
