Vaati   11 #2 Posted November 27, 2013 Well looks like it's going to be a pre 6am bus for me to get to work for at least 1 day during the holiday period. Has Christmas Eve always been a Saturday service?
 Share this content via...
Guest   #3 Posted November 27, 2013 Early finish (about 8pm) Christmas Eve and New Years Eve  Really? National Rail Enquiries says the last train from Sheffield to Chesterfield is 22:01.
 Share this content via...
Super Hans   10 #4 Posted November 27, 2013 No trains on Boxing day?  It's basically a normal day now, staff have to be in shops for 6am so the losers with no lives can ambush the stores to get everything that didn't tell in the last sale. Andy C Â Â 86 #11 Posted November 28, 2013 Really? National Rail Enquiries says the last train from Sheffield to Chesterfield is 22:01. Â It varies by route, that one benefits from the depot being in Derby!
 Share this content via...
Doom   10 #12 Posted November 28, 2013 It varies by route, that one benefits from the depot being in Derby!  I think I can probably guess the answer, but it always gets me that the last train back on a Saturday night from Nottingham to Sheffield is 9:37pm.  I find that awfully early between two major cities that are only 30 miles apart.  From Sheffield to Nottingham on a Saturday night there are 6 trains after that time, with the last one being 11:52pm.  I guess it's due to where the rolling stock needs to be for the Sunday journeys, but it's annoying for us who like to spend an evening in Nottingham before coming home on the train.  Regards  Doom
 Share this content via...
