Does anyone remember Pete Waterman and Michaela Strachan doing the hitman and her at Roxy's?? I remember watching it on tv as I was too young to go to Roxy's then..

 

i was there that night me and my mate jo our hair was massive and we had our white leggings on with our midriffs showing it was fab

I used to go early 70s top place for a great night out with the lads after a donald .dance floor packed untill you heard the imortal words lets all dance to the moris naylor sound do you remember.it used to empty. me and my mate both met our wifes( they were mates as well )at josophines in1980 that was the end of my cavorting

Roxy's was the first place I ever had a pint of lager.

There was an offer on for a pound a pint on lager and cider and when the cider ran out I thought I would give it a go.

I remember going into Roxy's when I was 13..

 

A friend who I used to knock about with was 18 and she took me in..

 

I borrowed her clothes which were about 2 sizes to big..

It was a brown and beige dogtooth skirt suit and I wore it with white shoes.. .. Ohh the shame of it now...

I can remember the songs they played too..

I used to go in when i was 16 and never got id till i turned 18. I used to love it in there.

I found hit man and her on you tube the other day that was filmed in Roxy. ( god i feel old now)

It was being used as headquarters/church for some dodgy religious group, but its now empty.

 

thats right theres all weird slogans on the walls.its now being ripped apart as we speak

Met my first husband in Roxys - Was at a Nurses ball in Nov 1979 altho neither of us were nurses - I was stood at bottom of stairs and as he came down he poured his drink on my head - and we were inseperable for the next eight years!!!! Loved Roxys but does anyone remember it being called Steeleys????

 

Hi, I remember it being called Steeleys as I worked there in 1975.

I was a bouncer, door supervisors I think they call them now.

I loved working there, great night out and getting paid for it too:hihi:
