Pet insurance for dog with medical problem

Can anyone recommend any pet insurance companies that will cover a dog with an on going medial problem (heart murmour)?

Sadly, it is doubtful that any insurance company will take on a dog with a pre-existing medical condition. They usually add them to the exclusions, plus anything that arises out of that condition.

All you can do is make a list of companies and telephone each one to enquire.

I agree but check out pet friends insurance , what level of heart murmur , my mojo has this and is still covered as she isn't at present on treatment for this

my eldest Dog also has a small heart murmour found at her first puppy visit to vets,we are insured but her heart isnt covered on the policy,

You might be better off registering with a vet such as Peak Vets at Woodseats who do discounts for ongoing medication

I don't think any insurance would cover an ongoing condition ( infact I'm sure they don't) as Strix says some vets offer discounts on lifetime meds

i have got insurance through direct line. they wont cover his condition which is fine, just as long as he is covered for anything else (non heart related).

 

i am already registered with peak
