TheBlueDragon
Hi people. I've been told that my family origins from Scotland and that our family has a family crest and I thought it would be cool to have it as a tattoo. But I want to check that my info is correct, so what do I need to do? Surname = Longmore

TheBlueDragon
I've Googled but been told a lot of the "find your crest" sites are fake crests
Minimo
You need to consult the Public Register of all Arms and Bearing in Scotland 1672-1907. The register is maintained by Lord Lyon who is responsible for all heraldic matters in Scotland. There is a genealogical website called Scotlandspeople which may be a good place to try. Above all else don't fall for sites trying to sell you items marked with 'your' crest. Chances are its just a same name coincidence. They just want your money/
