£9 for 2 and a bit hours parking!

This is wrong and the council should allocate free parking for the genuinely disabled,as should commercial providers, who could impose a surcharge on able-bodied users to cover the revenue loss.

The Council does provide free parking for Blue Badge Holders and without time limit.

A commercial organisation (NCP in this case) has no obligation to provide free parking. Why should they?

Having a walking disability is not generally an issue about money - it's to do with needing to park close to the ultimate destination where the disabled person needs to get to. Many Blue Badge holders receive additional benefits such as attendance allowance which are meant to help with costs such as these. If the OP doesn't want to pay for parking then he / she should use the Council provided free parking.

I think that NCP next to the Crucible is the most expensive car park in the world, certainly in Sheffield.

That NCP and their other one at Hartshead are the most expensive in the city.

These are nowhere near the most expensive in this country, never mind the world.

Typical London prices -

NCP Cadogan Place, London:

1 hour - £11

2 hours - £17

2-4 hours - £33

4-24 hours £48

I've corrected that statement for you

Well, you can park in some Council car parks on Sundays for free, or you an park in private car parks for free if you want to receive a string of nasty letters from the parking management company.

Most prefer to pay the appropriate fee, and the cheapest it gets is £2.50 per day
