chem1st
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-18588612 Newsagents in different areas of London carry adverts saying: "Double bedroom available… Asian only" "Double room to let Gujarati (Indian) only" Close to the station and bus stops (Filipino only) "Professional single lady or Sri Lanka professional couple" "House for rent… only Asian families" Welcome to the UK. Where discrimination is rife. No under 25s on DSS will no doubt be one we see soon. Even the council discriminates on age. We have many age banded properties. Perhaps we should have tower blocks for the different races?

Harleyman
Even as late as the 50s there were signs outside boarding houses. "Sorry... no Irish. But in Canada at that time there were signs "No immigrants" or so I was told by a Frenchman who emigrated to Canada in 1951 or 52. Strange since Canada was encouraging European immigration during those years. Maybe immigrants from the British Isles were exempt

MrSmith
But you go out and put "Whites only" and see how long it is before you're in court. Then advertise English only, there can’t be anything racist about that..
melthebell
Thats down to insurance, not racism. i never mentioned racism, its still a form of discrimination, and far far more widespread than the ones in the ops, the vast majority of job ads in every newspaper vacancies section features 1 or the other also no smokers
