Vote lib dem in local elections?

Recommended Posts

Unfortunately, if your taxes have increased, that's because they're trying to help the poorest in society by cutting theirs. We can't have it both ways. If you want to take care of the poorest, you have to be prepared to contribute.

Cutting the 50p tax, adding vat to pasties, tripling tuition fees, fully privatising the nhs, destroying the entire public sector. Helping the poorest in society?

Contribute to the poor by cutting jobs?

The current con-dem coalition has done more to harm the poorest and help the rich than any before it.

Not since Edwardian times has the disparity between classes been so obvious.

New labour too is depressingly Tory toward big business. But seeing how much better pensioners have been treated since 1997 they at least seem not completely devoid of humanity.

Unfortunately until proportional representation comes in there is no alternative.

Local elections are pretty irrelevant. Trading one numpty for another and you are still left with numpties.

Saying all that,it is a good chance to hurt the liberals and make them think twice about betraying their morals and voters again in the future. If we must have numpties making decisions for our city I hope they will be socialist numpties.

Their position is impossible because the Labour administration left us in 2009 with no money to spend and the biggest budget defecit in history; £152,706,000,000, beating their previous 2008 record of £69,231,000,000.

If the general election had occurred a year earlier, we would still have had the same deficit. I don't remember any of the party leaders calling for cuts in the proposed budgets in the late 2000's. That only seemed to happen after the election.

They were all in it together.

I do remember Darling making a comment about the current position being unsustainable or something similar shortly after he became chancellor. I think that was what 'unleashed the forces of hell' from downing street.

That nobody opposed the spending only serves my argument. It's very difficult to oppose spending, especially when nobody is paying the bill. The public don't thank you for fiscal responsibility. That only the chancellor spoke out about Labour's spending spree and the party still have no response to the crisis beyond 'those nasty Tories and their cuts' just shows what an irresponsible opportunistic party they are. Totally undeserving of any office IMO.

I do hope your not a comedian.

That the best you can do? No real argument to make so you just fling insults. You must be a labour supporter. Oh, and yes it's Dr. Biotechpete.

... If we must have numpties making decisions for our city I hope they will be socialist numpties.
You see, that's the problem, too many of the people voting in this city are off their heads.

For a start, they won't be Socialist numpties, they'll be Labour numpties. I've had the Socialist numpties at my door, and believe me, you wouldn't want any of them in charge. Not even of the fishing club raffle. :)

It just terrifies me, the criteria that many of the electorate use when deciding where to place their cross. Even people who agree that the LDs made a better job of running the City are prepared to vote for other parties, in a vain attempt to 'show' the party heirarchy. Show them what? That you don't care about the City or the people who live or work here, and what is in their best interests? It's madness. Talk about being prepared to cut off your nose to spite your face.

Im not off my head its just lucky dip for me :)

how am i supposed to know what each party's argument is or why they are better than the rest if they dont bother sending literature through the post or canvass door to door in areas i understand maybe not so much door to door but last time they held meetings in a local church hall and discussed with us what their plans were, this time 'nothing' !

Most people are not 'off their heads' as you put it, but wise folk who are able to see through the Lib Dems deceit and lies after they ditched their principles at the last general election, and for what? - they got their once in a generation vote on the changing the voting system (their justification in joining up with the Cons) and they blew it.

Anybody who would vote for these opportunist shysters really WOULD be off their heads!
