Wensday   10 #329 Posted July 10, 2011 Jo Jo and Supergran - R Wilson sounded positive until your two posts. Both of you joined the Forum in July 2011? Both recommending the same company just a couple hours apart? I am not against supporting friends/family. My apologies if I'm off beam here, but being a cynical sort you've raised my suspicions. medusa   16 #330 Posted July 10, 2011 (edited) Craig from CD Roofing has been to look after my roof a few times and in that time has turned up when he said he would, done the job that he said he'd do (and for the price that was given) and also been happy to provide a critique of what else may need doing in the future and the relative urgency of these jobs.  EDIT TO ADD- Craig has asked me to remove my recommendation as he is no longer working as a roofer and it's time consuming for people to contact him and wait for a returned call only to find out that he's no longer able to do the work. Suave   10 #331 Posted July 17, 2011 I am interested in having a loft conversion done. I have the plans drawn and approved by the council and I am ready to go. I need a reliable and trustworthy specialist to commence work on this.  I may split the work - so would require either a full job doing or a shell price only - will decide once I have some estimates in:huh:  Recommendations please!  Please contact me if you need more information
 Share this content via...

uksubs77 Â Â 10 #336 Posted August 12, 2011 Im new to this site. Just wanted a bit of advice please. Ive had a nightmare with my loft insulation, roof sweating, due to the roof being double felted and no air vents being in place. However after months of waiting I have now had 4 roof (tile) vents fitted and fresh loft insulation has been laid. I'm just worried now that the roof vents will not be effective due to the roof being double-felted (on the inside). Should I make some slits in the back felt to ensure air flow Or would this be risky? (Thinking why has the roof been double-felted? was there a leak?). Not sure what to do or whether the work that has been done by the professionals will be effective enough to stop the sweating. Please advise.
