Justin Smith
Is it possible to copy the contents of my Outlook Express (or at least the contents of some of the folders) onto the Outlook Express on a different PC ? I have 2 PCs linked together, one as a back up for the other, but it has occured to me I`d like to keep the Outlook Express contents of PC1, if (when ? ) it fails. gillybear
OK, i'm doing this off the top of my head so it may not be 100% Â Double Click - My Computer Click Tools, Folder options, View Make sure Show Hidden Files and Folders is selected (Green Dot) Click OK From My Computer, Double Click - Local Disk (C:) Double Click - Documents and Settings Double Click - the folder of the user you want Double Click - Local Settings (Normally a hidden Folder) Double Click - Application Data (Normally a hidden Folder) Double Click - Identities Double Click - The weirdly named folder {12dabq3wg or whatever} Double Click - Microsoft Right Click and Copy - Outlook Express Go back to your desktop and Paste this folder onto a USB Flash drive. Â Put the Flash drive into your other PC Start Outlook Express on the destination PC Click File, Import, Messages Click Microsoft Outlook Express 6 then Next Bit Vague here, i think you have to select Main Identity or similar The click browse Point to the folder on your USB Flash Drive and press OK. Â A few seconds later it should be done.

stimpy
can you not just export the .pst file? Â thats how it is done in normal outlook.
Justin Smith
I`ve just done another "copy" to my other PC and found I had to delete all the E Mails on my PC2 Outlook Express in order to avoid duplicating them. I found the fastest way to do this was to find the folder they were stored in (as also explained on the link above) : Â (In Outlook Express) Tools > Options > Maintenance > Store Folder I then copied this address of this folder into my "search" box then deleted all the folders listed. Then copy new messages in.
