Morts
Kids used to have loads of jobs in those days. I started with paper rounds-morning, evening and Sudays (which were a killer). Then shop assistant at a greengrocers and working on the petrol pumps at 4/- an hour in 1970-a fortune for a Saturday job. I had a scooter in those days and never emptied the remaining petrol in the pump into the car tank. I would then fill a can with left overs. It was a mixture of 2* to 5* but mixed with 2T the scooter ran ok. I recall a guy running out of petrol just a few hundred yards up the road and filling a bucket with petrol as he didn't have a jerry can!! Left school and worked for an insurance company for 30 years before redundancy.
