Blimey, that Hole In The Road one is evocative. Makes me feel I'm about to go and have my haircut with my dad at Roger Sherwood's (where there was a hairdresser who looked exactly like John Cleese).

Erm, let me think.

 

1) You were a part-time stilt walker from Billy Smart's Circus and you were walking up Lydgate Lane one lunchtime hoping to get a pint in the Hallamshire?

 

As you were on stilts they wouldn't let you in, so instead you headed for the King's Head where you could sit in the beer garden. Peeved that you'd been 'shown the door' at the Hallamshire, you took the photograph in order to sue the landlord for his stiltism?

 

2) You'd set fire to a double-decker bus and were in the process of climbing out of the rear window. Just incase you broke your neck jumping to the ground, you decided to take the picture as a memento to your loved ones?

 

3) You had made your way up Lydgte Lane on a space-hopper? You were en route to the field at the top of the lane to play with your friends who had also taken their space-hoppers, skate-boards and Rubics Cubes? You took the picture as a souvenir of your reaching the summit of Lydgate Lane?

 

4) You sat on your dad's shoulders?

 

5) You were riding on the back of a lorry, probably an old Whitbreads beer lorry? Maybe on a council waggon then?

great pictures, looking at them i wish the hole in road was back , and the kelvin flats look a bit off putting with the grafiti on them!
