it's funny about the hole in the road, lots of people miss it including me...... although it got into a state in the end...

 

i put in the graffitti ones for kelvin flats for those who like a slice of urban deprivation!

Nice photos Pete.

I especially like the one “Deakin tools” as a kid back in the late 60s we called it the half-a-dollar shop.

I think when the council erected the gas lamp they must have borrowed a spirit level from the shop, and so was a good advert for there quality of tools.

why did you call it the half dollar shop?

 

a friend of mine wanted to write a piece about deakin's tools for the star many years ago.

 

the owner refused. he didn't want to mess about having these new-fangled newspapers writing about him.
