Warning- uninvited scrapmen Handsworth& Richmond

uninvited persons (calling themselves scrapmen) currently prowling properties in the area without permission and lifting scrap and anything not bolted down.

white van and also white drop side vehicle, possibly taking registration numbers would be helpful. 2 visits per day at the mo by look of it.

• discolouration, odour or taste of drinking water

• burning domestic or garden waste

• domestic infestations

• smoke emissions from vehicles

• road maintenance

• interruptions for electricity or water supplies

• blocked domestic drains and sewers

Well, it is in neither list, but the fact is it is they that deal with, and supposedly enforce the waste handling licenses.

 

I have to admit that I have had a substantially contradictory correspondence with EA: I asked if this was something they were concerned with, and they said, yes, tell them any information, even if it is just a registration number of a suspect.

So I shortly tell them a registration number and they ask what I expect them to do about it. :roll:

On Tueday I passed a pick-up that had just been stopped by police on Moss Way. It was an S-reg Transit, all white with white cage on back loaded with scrap, gates etc. The driver looked around 30, well built with shaven head. Not necessarily doing anything illegal though, might have been a routine stop.
