Upbeat song needed!

Recommended Posts

Here's a nice one:

And in the death

as the last few corpses lay rotting

on the slimy thoroughfare

The shutters lifted in inches in temperence building

high on Poachers hill

And red mutant eyes gazed down on hunger city

No more big wheels

Fleas the size of rats sucked on

rats the size of cats

And ten thousand peoploids

split into small tribes

coveting the highest of the sterile skyscrapers

Like packs of dogs assaulting the glass fronts

of Love-me-avenue

Ripping and re wrapping mink and shiny silver fox, now legwarmers

Family badge of sapphire and cracked emerald

Any day now!

Nice upbeat little ditty eh? ...should go down well :D

Ah Mr Jones at his best

Joni Mitchell......Big Yellow Taxi. A classic to the informed.

The problem with that is that it's a song in which Joni complains they 'Paved paradise to put up a parking lot', a measure which actually would have alleviated traffic congestion on the outskirts of paradise, something which Joni singularly fails to point out, perhaps because it doesn't quite fit in with her blinkered view of the world.

Far better to try one of the catchy toe-tapping numbers by upcoming Sheffield beat combo That's Never A Real Horse. ;)

Yes Ms Macbeth, that's the kind of stuff, thanks. I also thought of "Get Happy" by Judy Garland (also covered by Zoe Birkett)

And 'The Trolley Song' also by Judy Garland.

I could have danced all night - The King and I

Hope you find what you're looking for!
