swarfendor437
Hi andkyk68,  here is another option - sorry if its already been posted - haven't checked all previous replies on this thread.  http://kotowanandesu.blogspot.com/2009/11/installing-wubi-on-acer-netbook.html  best regards for 2010 swarfendor43
andyk68
I had a go at the wubi install but they are having an issue with it. I found out what the issue was and went for the workaround. This then installed ubuntu inside my XP. The problem I then had was that although my 120gb hard drive was now showing 20gb less (the amount I'd allocated to ubuntu) ther was no loader to run ubuntu either at boot level or once the netbook had started running XP. The soft that sarkysod posted was excellent because I had already made the usb flash drive and I know little to nothing about partitions. It now works how I want it to. The only thing I am struggling with is that it doesnt auto find my wireless network like xp does, but thats a minor detail. Thx for your help. andyk68
Thx apelike, I'm quite liking the feel of it. The only thing now is getting used to a new set of extensions, and what to do with the various install file types. But as it did with windows, it'll come to me. andyk68
Probably sounds a bit fickle thisbut I'm going of Ubuntu and linux already. I find it really fast and effiecient for common tasks, the problems start when you want to do something like sync your S60 Nokia or even update the flash player. There are so many work arounds that involve terminals and command lines that all seem alien to me at the moment. There does seem to be an answer for everything but it tends to involve a make do work around. I'm going to stick with it for a while but not sure how long.
