millhouses24
A lot of the snow seems to have melted now . Last night there was some bizarre sleet thing going on (no umbrella and a big walk home - well done me ). It's actually quite warm so I'm not sure if we are going to get anything soon. Avalon
In Barnsley this morning there was a light covering of snow and the temperature on the car at 6:45am said it was -2C, so slightly warmer than it has been. Yesterday a lot melted, but then this froze once the sun went down. Travelling to work in Leeds this AM, most of the roads were fine, and hadn't had much snow overnight, however coming over the top of Leeds it was snowing heavy and settling fast, but then it was rain/sleet when you dropped down the hill into lower ground. ChrisS6
It's thawing fast in town, but TravelSouthYorkshire shows buses having various problems outside the centre. The 95/52 are doing their "terminus swap/circular thing", and the 31 isn't doing Carr Road, so it must still be dodgy in Walkley/Crookes. I don't want to walk home, but by the time the website says "no buses past t'University it's too late ! Can anyone in Walkey/Crookes give us an update, please ? astonowl
Heavy snow expected at 15:00 according to MetOffice - but it's different everytime you go on it! http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/yh/rotherham_forecast_weather.html
Nataliie
Still lightly snowing in S12 but all the roads are clear I didn't think they would get cleared either, because they hadn't been done at 0200 last night, so council must have done a good job getting everywhere done. Looked on MetOffice, and says snow will stop about 1800, so it'll probably get heavy at 1800 :hihi:
ashanta67
Hello Well, it's still doing that strange wet fine snow thing but continuously and the icicles are thawing. Crookes main road clear plus Lydgate. Side roads slushy. Buses ok so far. Good luck!
