  1. Wow that would have been quite a journey back then. What did you drive? Any clue what make of truck was in the picture?
  2. Hopefully this worked! <a href="https://imgur.com/5BlCK5a"><img src="" title="source: imgur.com" /></a>
  3. Trying to identify a truck used in the lord mayors parade around 1967. I have a pic but not 100% sure I can upload it
  4. Was there last week and it was out in the car park looking absolutely splendid!
  5. just a loud noise like an explosion or rumble of thunder?
  6. anyone hear a loud noise in Stocksbridge about half an hour ago?
  7. not the one he controlled. that was XM655
  8. Certainly not a great amount of space compared to the size of the aircraft! Here are the steps up to XM655's Cockpit at Wellesbourne Airfield (incidentally the one used in that programme with Guy Martin) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v692/andyrad/ladders_zpsfz1dahny.jpg Well worth going there to see one of the fast taxi runs they do with her
  9. brill stuff! and here's myself in the cockpit...think it was 50p to have a look in. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v692/andyrad/391_zpsrh8qnk5u.jpg such a shame how 391 ended up :(
  10. Correct me if i'm wrong these pics are of 391 at Blackpool which was broken up in the 90's ---------- Post added 02-01-2016 at 10:22 ---------- Yes definatley XL391 which used to be at Blackpool Airport, here's myself and my brother taken on 17th April 1988! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v692/andyrad/391%2017.4.88_zpsviljd22g.jpg (the red fire engine at the rear still there!) ---------- Post added 02-01-2016 at 10:28 ---------- I have at least a peice of paper that was on that very last flight! what a peice of history... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v692/andyrad/certificate_zpsrqbgsw4a.jpg ---------- Post added 02-01-2016 at 10:49 ---------- Unfortunaley yes it has and i am the lucky owner of a certificate which was on board that last ever flight! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v692/andyrad/certificate_zpsrqbgsw4a.jpg
  11. you may see her over south east sheffield this coming Saturday https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=zJoGZd3-Qg5U.k9_QAWQWnmes
  12. any further info on the planned open day? sounds really interesting!
  13. The River Don building on brightside lane, such an imposing structure. would have loved to have been around to see it in its heyday. anyone know if its still in use?
  14. likwise if there was no immigrant then the job would have gone to the unemployed person and would be 0% unemployment
  15. It isnt the only one left there are 14 others preserved in museums iirc. XH558 based at Doncaster is the only Airworthy one left. 2 others are kept "live" and do fast taxy runs, one at Southend (XL426) and one at Wellesbourne Mountford airfield (XM655) I'm off to Blackpool airshow on the 9th August just to see the Vulcan ---------- Post added 01-08-2015 at 08:58 ---------- Here is the Wellesbourne one doing its fast taxy which i filmed in June this year...she just wants to get airbourne! ---------- Post added 01-08-2015 at 09:01 ---------- For anyone going to Doncaster you wont get a take off like this but this is just what she is capable of!
