Awful smell in Tinsley

The firm called Strecycle is near Magna and it is used for the burning of limbs yes limbs as in arms & legs that have been amputated. They are sent from all Hospitals in the area. and this is true. Had it 1st hand (pardon the pun)

The smell is really punjant. Good place tho for it...........

Wrong, wrong and wrong on all counts.

Why don't you go down there and find out what they actually do?

Believe it or not - it's the one of the most advanced technological developments for waste treatment that STOPS WASTE BEING SHOVED INTO THE GROUND. Rather than offer your opinion that is clearly misinformed and potentially very damaging against a Company which is actually supporting a more environmentally friendly city - go and find out what they do - assess whether you think it is this Company or the sewage farm who is emitting the odour - and then come back on here to give us your assessment.

Finally - the Company "Sterecycle" at Rotherham is spelt differently and is a completely different business to the "Stericyle" which is based in Leeds and which is a clinical incinerator for servicing hospitals (used to be called White Rose Environmental). Sterecyle at Rotherham is NOT an incinerator and does NOT burn anything. It sterilises general household waste to enable the various elements to be recycled. I hope this clarifies some of the misconceptions on here.

It's the sewage plant!

Someone with sense!!!

The sewage treatment plant which you are discussing is called Blackburn Meadows. They have recently extended their sewage sludge composting area towards Magna and it joins Sterecyle's land which is people wrongly think that the odour is from Sterecycle (when it is actually a cabbage type odour which comes from the sewage sludge composting area) - BELONGING TO BLACKBURN MEADOWS!!!

liose ur wrong on that lv its bein proven wat it does lv

I think you are mixing this business in Rotherham with another one. It is not an incinerator - they do not BURN anything. I think someone is trying to tell you early halloween stories.

Clearly the forum is for open discussion and I have not issue whatsoever in being told I am wrong if the person has reliable sources of evidence and tells me why I am wrong!

For those who are genuinely interested in this debate and particularly about the Company and what they are doing in terms of environmental impact, I have put the website below for information. Just to confirm - I am certainly an advocate of this business but I am not an employee.

For those who are confusing the business with Stericycle - please find the link to their website below...
