shanes teeth   10 #28 Posted October 6, 2009 Sheffield PWD had a sports ground on Ecclesall Rd at Whirlow. There was a sports ground opposite the Grindstone at Crookes,Possibly the waterboard. And I've heard tell that many years ago they used to play football at Bramall Lane, but I can't imagine that being true! wobblybob50 Â Â 10 #31 Posted January 24, 2014 The Waterworks ground at Crookes was called the Hadfield Sports Ground as it was on top of the Hadfield reservoir. In the 1970's the Sheffield Corporation Waterworks had a really good team that played in the old Yorkshire League. Yorks Water also had a team that played there in the Sheffield Sunday Sports League for a number of years. I have played on the pitch a few times in inter departmental games and it was lovelly to play on.
 Share this content via...
