gatoruby
VillaCarusso is awful. Italian food as a 1970s resturant would have done it Well thats your opinion I didn't like popa whats it further down but I wouldn't knock it everyone has different taste
smurf_anna
I've always really enjoyed Canteen, have taken quite a few people there. Serves quite homely food. Particularly appeals to my friends who like a bargain! Haven't been to Grill on the Hill but it didn't get a v good review in the Sheffield Telegraph the other day. Max Power
It may not be close enough to the area you want but, 10 minutes outside of cosmopolitan Crookes, there's Marco At Milano: http://www.marcoatmilano.com/ MM is probably the best Italian restaurant in Sheffield. It is a bit pricey, but worthwhile if you want to really treat your guests

You could always go to a pizza chain instead
gemma86
Artisan is good, I was expecting it to be much more expensive and much less on the plates. Casanova's is great. But for me, you can't beat Jaflong on Crookes, and definitely looking forward to a 2nd visit to Zara's which has opened recently. For normal pub food, was quite impressed by the Sportsman at Crosspool, cheap and much better than most other pubs.

Moran's in one of the few Sheff spots in the good food guide, and that's justup the road from Marco's, just before Dore station!
