lostproperty   10 #1 Posted March 10, 2005 Im looking to train to be a holistic therapist, but im having some trouble finding a course. Id like to end up with a recognised qualification, so i can start practising. Does anyone know anything about apprenticeships in this field, or has anyone trained sucessfully in sheffield? Im interested in aromatherapy and massage especially but would like to study a broad range of therapies initially.
 Share this content via...

woolspinster   10 #3 Posted March 11, 2005 You could try http://www.naturalhealthcourses.com they do distance learning courses in a range of holistic therapies. If you pass with 80% or more you will recieve a diploma which entitles you to practice.
 Share this content via...
technophobe   10 #4 Posted March 11, 2005 Lostproperty: Iam a member of the Institute of Holistic Therapists and have been for about 4 years. You can partake in a partime massage course at City College (Granville rd) this is what you need before you specialise in other techniques. The doors then open for you to do all sorts of other things such as reflexology, aromatherapy etc etc.
 Share this content via...

Lou   10 #8 Posted March 11, 2005 lostproperty there's a Natural Health Show at Don Valley Stadium 12th-13th November. See here for more info. I know it's a while off but I'm sure there's another one scheduled sooner. I'll try and find the date and post it on here...  Maybe you could chat to some of the therapists and ask them where they trained as some (or all) of them would be based in or around Sheffield? Alternatively they're just interesting to go along to!  Posted on 29.03.05: There's a Health Show at Sheffield United on 11-12th June. See info here.
