F. Sidebottom
when we have had support from visitors this year ie wendy, bristol, hull, barnsley we have been round the 29,000/30,000 mark. but still managed to average 25,500 with the likes of colchester, burnley, blackpool being in town. What you argues was that you got an average of 30,000 last year, and if you take off the average away attendance last year (you said 2000) that gave you the average number of home fans - 28,000. This year you have averaged 25,000. But you havene't taken off the average number of away fans this year (probably near 2000 again) in order to get the average number of home fans this year (probably around 23,000). So you have lost around 5000 fans from last year.

Enjoy it JUst imagine if we get the biggest Sheffield crowd of the season. Apart from finishing higher than us, what else could unitedites brag about then. Very little "local" achievement at all. More power. Better squad. Big future..... The Owls, well the only thing they have is a possible takeover and possibly staying in this league. I'll give you highest average attendance, the others are all relative - 10/15 years ago we had more wealth, better players etc - thats just a fact of life it'll go full circle again. It must still hurt that all the boasting of instant promotion, easy 6 points etc just haven't happened. No matter how much is made of our own financial distress - we didn't make those type of predictions.
