The thermostat that was replaced is the one strapped to the hot water tank in the bathroom. I don't have an immersion heater. The radiators are controlled by a room thermostat and they seem to be working normally. It seemed so obvious that it was the thermostat on the water tank that was faulty which is why we replaced it. Just confused why this didn't work.

Thanks - I've tried that but it doesn't seem to make any difference to the water temp.

My hot water is consistantly over-heating. There's a thermostat on the side of the hot water tank in the bathroom which was always set to 50 degrees but the water is now getting much hotter. My dad replaced the thermostat but it hasn't cured the problem. Any advice please?? thanks

Are you getting a minibus there and back? I've been quoted about £90 each way (six people) - seemed a bit steep to me! Where have you booked yours from?

"Can't get a hotel all booked ages ago. Can't get a campsite which was our original plan. Otherwise it looks like two cars going and quite frankly i'd like a drink. There is a minibus going but it's £20 a head and going from nowhere near where any of us live so would still mean driving which negates the need for a lift in first place (Drink being the overriding factor!)" Can you give me details of the minibus you mention - it's probably full by now but maybe worth a try for us. Thanks!
