  1. I've found one at Stannington. Is this Sheffield 6. If so the number I've got is 2234516
  2. I can't begin to describe the mental image I have of Jabberwocky:D
  3. Since reading this thread yesterday 3 more people in my area now know that their loft insulation has not been put back properly. So thanks ann for letting us know about it.
  4. I lived on Dacre, I don't think I know any body from Bungay. Having said that my memory will probably be playing tricks at the moment:( I've got to say i do love this thread cus it's brought back things i haven't thought of for years, like standing under the outlets from the laundrette which were on High Pavement, a big gang of us keeping warm in winter
  5. My sympathies are with you TYPS. I haven't had exactly the same problems as you, but I have found it pretty hard going.
  6. I don't know you Foxy but I'm glad you enjoyed it and congratulations:thumbsup:
  7. Hi and welcome to theForum I moved off Hyde Park in approx. '85. Where abouts did you live?
  8. Hi Plain Talker. The shop I'm thinking of was on High Pavement around 1978. There could also have been one on The Pavement because the same man also had a shop in Fitzalan Square at the same time
  9. Thanks anyway. It seems like there are quite a few ex-hyde Parkers on here so I'm sure someone will let me know.
  10. Cheers for that Hecate. I've been wracking my brains for that since I read this thread earlier. I don't suppose you know whether I'm right or not about Bradshaws do you?
  11. Hi everyone. As you can see I am new on SF. What a trip down memory lane reading this thread was. My family moved onto Hyde park in 1976. We lived above the Crows Nest Pub. I would like to ask if anyone can remember what the name of the pub was that stood right at the end of either Hyde Park Walk or Hyde Park Terrace? Also could any one clarify that there used to be a groceryshop/supermarket called Bradshaws on High Pavement? Thanks
  12. The crispy noodles were the only thing I liked about Vesta Chinese meals. I've no idea of anywhere to buy them from now. I hope someone on here can tell us.
  13. Cheers ann. I wish I'd had the same experience as MR BENN when my refurbishment was happening but unfortunately as you can tell I didn't.
  14. Unfortunately, I can't go up there and do it myself, but I did re-paint my kitchen walls and ceiling after the kitchen was flooded. Oh and I did find the source of the leak they caused after 3 different plumbers had supposedly fixed it. I also re-laid my daughters bedroom carpet after it was left in a dangerous condition. So dig away all you want, cus I haven't rung them because I can't be bothered to do it myself it's because I cant.
  15. Checked it out and my loft insulation is all piled up together. Rung council, just waiting for someone from Bramhalls to get back to me.
  16. Brilliant to hear your dog is on the mend.
  17. If he's pleaded guilty, it's my guess he'll be back out in 5 years.
  18. I'm with MR BENN on this one. I've never used one of those self-service machines. You wouldn't imagine that your crunchy nuts (cornflakes) would be in peril at the checkout though would you?
  19. Hope your dog is OK. Don't forget to keep us updated. I hope you are OK too.
  20. I read your post, and like I said earlier I'm sure I'm going to enjoy it on here!! Thanks for the welcome.
