  1. This place looks quite interesting, think I read on another thread that they cut it with a razor as opposed to scissors- Is that right? In one review I read though someone said that they didn't do the style they wanted and cut it too short.. anyone got any experience of this place?
  2. Hi, I catch it from the Hallamshire to the Northern. It runs from both sites on the hour and 1/2 past the hour. It leaves from the Clocktower at the Northern General so if you wanted to catch it from Herries Rd to get you there for 8.30 you would be ok catching the 8am bus- would prob get you there for 8.25. Hope that helps!
  3. Can anyone recommend a stylist from Halo on Division St or Creator? Also in a previous thread a few Sheff forumers mentioned Tall Poppy on Campo Lane, anyone been or can recommend?
  4. Thanks!, may try them- thought it looked a nice salon when I've been past before. Can anyone recommend a stylist from Halo on Division St or Creator? Also in a previous thread a few Sheff forumers mentioned Tall Poppy on Campo Lane, anyone been or can recommend?
  5. Not sure about in the city centre but I know the Dram shop on Commonside used to do it and also Just Natural on Crookes - tried Rose Lemonade by Fentimans the other day (from Just Natural) and that was nice too!
  6. Hi all, Anyone know of a good hair stylist in Sheffield city centre? I have fairly long hair and I'm wanting someone who is good with layers and fringes! Can anyone give me the name of someone good that they've been to.. sorry think this topic has been done to death on here but there seems to be loads of recommendations for good hair salons but not actual stylists! Thanks in advance!
  7. Hi, I know it is a bit early to be looking for July but we are wanting a 2 bed house/flat in the Crookes/Walkley/Broomhill areas of Sheffield to rent from 1st of July 2009. Ideally would love a 2 bed house with a bit of a garden area/patio area. Please do PM me if you have anything that may be suitable! Many thanks.
  8. Another thumbs up for this place! It's called 'Skills for Business' and is part of the Hillsborough Barracks. May be a little far for her to travel but definetly a really great place to learn basic computer skills. They do an IT starter course and it's really flexible- you can just turn up at any time to suit you and the staff there are really helpful. A very mixed group of people as well- not just a load of young people! If she is disabled she will more than likely get the course free as I know that is the case for people on benefits.
  9. Yeh I prefer the smaller one too- really nice atmosphere and gorgeous food!!! I'm vegetarian so always end up having the vege kebab but never tire of it! My boyfriend loves the mixed kebab they do there- Highly recommended!
  10. Sounds quite different to our experience Caz! Would say service distinctly unefficient when we went!- Waited for about an hour for starters and the table next to us who had arrived half an hour after us got their starters first!!
  11. I visited this restaurant recently and can't say as I was that impressed by it... Have previously tried both Baan Thai and Siam Inter and have to say that I prefer both of them to this place- both of our meals were served luke warm (as were the starters also) and one of the dishes was overcooked and far to hot (spicy) whilst the other dish was undercooked!! Also found the staff to be less than attentive and not really that friendly! Really didn't feel it was worth the money paid and ended up wishing we had gone to Siam Inter instead!!
  12. Hi, I finished uni 4 months ago and I am having real problems finding work (preferably wanting to work in admin or retail)- I am wanting to do a Masters at uni next year but need to get voluntary experience in the field before I can apply. Problem is that the voluntary work I want to do is on a Monday at 12pm and most employers would need me to work Mon-Fri I can work weekends but I just need to find an employer that is flexible. Have considered places like Norwich Union but they appear to recruit through agencies and most agencies have been quite disinterested in me as I can't work the typical Mon-Fri week. Anyone know of any employers that are more flexible with the hours who are currently recruiting?? Thanks!
  13. Hi, I just wondered if anyone could recommend a good (reasonably priced) driving school?, I live in the Crookes area of Sheffield and I am also quite a nervous driver so would like someone patient! Also could anyone tell me how much lessons tend to cost these days? Cheers!
