  1. How about the begginner classes at wicker camp thai boxing if your into martial arts? I am a complete begginner and have been going for a while and i am quite shy aswell and had some confidence problems when i started out, but everyone there is really sound. The instructors are absolutely brilliant; they describe everything so well and they are really friendly and genuinely want to help you. Its done wonders for my fitness aswell; my stamina, endurance and strength have all improved quite quickly. You get pushed really hard but you can go at your own pace. The B1 classes are on monday and wednesday at 8 til 9 30 and mixed begginners are on friday at 6 til 7 30. Bagwork classes are also on somedays from 8 til 9. for more info visit http://www.wickercamp.co.uk oh and the first lesson is free so you have nothing to lose.
  2. There are net sessions at Fir Vale Sports centre @ 6 til 7 30 on Mondays... and i think Steve taylor (whos played at elite level and still plays competitvely today at about 54 years old) is gonna start running net sessions there too once the winter comes and he was telling me something about bringing a team together for next season. You could always try Shirgreen CC, Pat Flaherty is a nice fella.
  3. Im 17, is it still possible i can come? And where abouts in endcliffe park will it be?
  4. Hi Im interested, i dont know the rules of American Football or even rugby for the matter, but how old do you have to be to enter and will this be a weekly thing leading over to competition? Thanks
  5. Hi guys, just wanted to ask if anyone knows of any places or tracks which are open to the public to use for running? I know Fir Vale school has a track but they lock it up after school hours:gag: so does anyone know where there is an outdoor track available in sheffield, preferably near S5? Also, can anyone recommened anywhere i can do any bleacher drills, ie running up a long flight of stairs? Thanks
  6. will hopefully pop in tomorrow to have a look-how come nothing has been mentioned about sheffield shootfighters on the site?
  7. Isnt Manor ABC around there on Prince of Wales Street? Steve Barnes runs it, he uses the same system as the legendary brendan Ingle; Steves son is one of the top amateurs in the country, hes boxed for England and won the ABA championships on numerous occasions.
  8. brendan wouldnt chuck your lad straight in with sparring; hed teach him footowork drills, bag work, pad work, develop confidence and discipline. When i used to go down last year, there were quite a few toddlers who would come down and enjoy themselves. Brendan gets the older lads to get down on there knees, put there hands behind the back and the young kids have to hit them in the face whilst the lad has to move there head. Saturday and Sunday are the best days to come down. Brendan is a fantastic guy.
  9. i think brendan ingle would do it...newman road wincobank
  10. Hi guys, I have a younger cousin who would like to take up karate. Whenever im watching clips of MMA on youtube, he is so intrigued and he likes GSP (who doesnt!). I would like him to get involvved in some form of karate in order to help with his discipline and his intrest in martial arts. Kyokushin karate seems really good but is there anywhere in sheffield which does it? Any other full contact karate styles will be appreciated; preferably around the S5 area. Thanks
  11. burngreave abc just off elsemeare road, lane top abc on hatfield house road, and brendan ingles gym on newman road.
  12. Will this mean dan hudson is leaving wicker camp?
  13. WOW I am really excited about this...ive been bamboozled where to start for ma...ive been to wicker camp for about 10 classes but ive got a.s exams coming up and the classes are too late for me.....will pep of shootfighters be teaching this? I heard hes quality...and also ive always been meaning to pop down to gracie barra and the fact that they are all under one roof is brilliant! Will there be beginner classes or are all classes for mixed abilites? Will there also be student discounts? Will there also be monthly or weekly class fees? Thanks!
  14. Lethal Latif runs a chinese kcickboxing class down at the clocktower in firth park. http://www.sheffieldmartialarts.co.uk/ never tried it out but its supposed to be good fun. I think he also does classes on Lane Top
