  4. Hey guys, My advice to you Big Mick is if you really want to be a pro fighter and not just have a pro rules fight (theres a big difference) is to change your view about the qualification of your coaches. Its my professional opinion that there is no such thing as a MMA coach. All pro fighters, fighting under any rules that i have met and train with all have a number of coaches for different reasons and not all of them have fought. Take for example John Danaher, never competed MMA or bjj to any great level but is one of the most sought after ground coaches in MMA. (foot note, your also wrong on my competing but Im not getting dragged into that) Going back to finding a gym, depending on what you are wanting ie to fight pro rules or be a pro fighter. Have a pro rules fight train anywhere they say I teach MMA or even better I teach UFC. If you want to be a pro fighter, be willing to travel to the very few gyms in the UK that can offer all coaches under one roof such as Roughhouse. Or if your not willing to travel look at fighters like Sam Boult to see what they are doing which is training at 3 plus gym for what you need. One more thing. Dont diss the gi, if these guys are will ing to put one on to progress in mma I think its a lesson to all people that want to fight. http://www.facebook.com/update_security_info.php?wizard=1#!/photo.php?fbid=198173963537824&set=t.664880692&theater http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=156521327718205&set=t.100001214972125#!/photo.php?fbid=172103986173433&set=a.169007579816407.53665.100001214972125&theater Hope the above work. 6. .....and the Ultimate SWAT team gi that's on special offer at £199.
  7. Sorry may have caused confusion with some of my students, the promise only comes with the 3 year agreement.
  8. No ur right, I promise them exactly when they will get there stripes because if not they may leave and train at a better club. Then how am I going to put petrol in my merc, come on!!!
  9. No Farad, I pay Lagarto £3000 a year plus to be able to give stripes. Don't tell anyone but I then charge everyone huge amounts for training to pay this and trick them into lengthy contracts they can't get out of unless the pay even more money but again that's between us. I got my belt at a reasonable price of £8000 and a years training
  10. That's just not true!! They have to pay vast amounts of money to me first then if I like them then I'll think about giving them a stripe.
  11. For your £45 a month you can train in all of the 8 MMA classes a week plus 3 open mats in the day so ie you could train 47 times a month..........but I may charge you rent not membership lol
  12. I also think the quote "the definitive bjj club in the north of England" is a little bit of a stretch. I could list arguably 10 plus that have EKBJJ (and GB Sheffield) in there shadow. Nice start to the site anyway sure there’s more to come on it and as for those load up problems, I keep telling people to ditch those 56k modems as it loaded pretty quick for me!! PS Ross xx
  13. Hi, The price of the MMA is £45 a month for members and £7 per session for non members. No there will be no sparing in the technical class. This allows students to choose if they want to spar or not as some people have express an interest in getting the fitness and technical knowledge with out having to fight.
  14. Hi Guys, Over the past few years we have dipped into the world of MMA with growing success and we have faced some excellent names at all levels. We've decided to build on this success by putting Forged MMA together and invest more time at our gym to grow the team of experienced fighters as well as new ones. We would also like to invite those who wish to train hard but don’t have an interest in competing as MMA should be as accessible as BJJ without the pressure of competing. So the gym is having a face lift with additional features including larger mat space and a 20ft cage, as well as other new equipment. The new timetable will start on the 1st November and we will be having an open day on the 30th October for everyone to come and see the facelift. The new timetable will be; Monday 5.15-6pm Kids BJJ 6-7pm Fundamentals BJJ 7-8pm Intermediate BJJ 8-8.30 Sparring Tuesday 6-7pm MMA Bag and Pad Work 7-8pm MMA Technical 8-8.30 Sparring Wednesday 5.15-6pm Kids BJJ 6-7pm Fundamentals BJJ 7-8pm Intermediate BJJ 8-8.30 Sparring Thursday 6-7pm MMA Cardio 7-8pm MMA Technical 8-8.30 Sparring Friday 6-7pm BJJ Sparing 7-8pm No Gi Training Saturday 10-11am Kids BJJ 11-12pm BJJ Open Mat 12-1pm MMA Open Mat If you require any further info please feel free to contact me.
