  1. 1952 4th Radio Officer on a P&O liner for £21 a month but that was 'all found'.
  2. Anyone know what closed the top end of Ecclesall Rd this morning?
  3. There is a slipway at Torksey. It is at The Elms retirement complex but I don't know if it is for public use. They let me put my boat in some years ago. Remember Torksey is on the canal and there is a 4 MPH speed limit on it.
  4. Thanks for the help gents. All sorted now.
  5. Can anyone tell me how to change from double click to single click in Win10 please.
  6. I can recommend Smith Support Ltd. He did a good job for me at a reasonable price. Phone 0114 4070132.
  7. Thanks for the information MoZaLaN.
  8. Thank you IT -Smith. I'll set the updates going and go on the canal for a week! Its not even my computer. Best regards Baz52
  9. Thanks IT -Smith I'll do as you say. Can you tell me whether I will have to put all the Win7 updates on before I upgrade?
  10. No Baddodaoo. I had a failure of Win7 registry and couldn't boot up so installed Win 10 from a USB stick for a clean install.
  11. I recently did a clean install of Win10 and skipped entering the product key. I now want to put it in but don't know where to enter it. Any help would be much appreciated.
  12. Further to my earlier post re Stardock Fences not working on W10 I have received an email from them on how to put it right. If anyone else has the problem I'll forward the email if you let me know.
  13. Thanks once again Lookleft. I've uninstalled Fences and that has cured the problem. No doubt Stardock will update the programme eventually.
  14. Thanks Lookleft, sorry I'm late in replying. Neither of your suggestions apply I'm afraid. I'm using Fences to organise my icon places so I wonder if it could be that, I'm loathe to uninstall it.
  15. Have installed Win 10 OK but one niggle I can't figure out. I can't drag icons on the desktop to where I want them. Any suggestions would be very welcome.
  16. The first obvious thing is the switch in the torch. Can you put a meter across the terminals in the machine (with it unplugged from the mains of course) and see if you get a continuity reading when you press the switch.
  17. Thank you Gents for all your advice. I'll bite the bullet and buy new copies when Win 10 arrives. I think we can call this topic closed now. Cheers baz52
  18. Many thanks for all your suggestions but it doesn't answer my question as to whether there is any way of moving a programme from one PC to another PC. Thanks once again. baz52
  19. Thanks Gillybear. The two progs are early versions of Nero Startsmart and Movavi Videosuite. Baz 52 ---------- Post added 08-06-2015 at 22:31 ---------- Thanks Gillybear. The two progs are early versions of Nero Startsmart and Movavi Videosuite. Baz 52
  20. Thanks ElasticMan but as I said in my post I don't have the product key i.e. registration number. Unfortunately they were written on the installation discs that I inadvertently threw away with a load of junk stuff but thanks for your suggestion anyway. Baz52
  21. I recently bought a new PC and want to transfer two programmes from the old one to the new one. I don't have either the installation files/discs or product keys. Both PCs are running Windows 7 64 bit and are Home Networked. Obviously it is no good copying the files on the old C drive because this doesn't copy the registry entries. Any help would be much appreciated thank you.
  22. Thanks for your input guys, I know what to watch out for now.
  23. Does anyone know for certain if an email quotation for work to be carried out has the same legality as a hard copy one please?
  24. It depends on the models. I have done it with two base sets and 2 handsets for each base. One thing to remember though is to switch off the answering machine on one of the bases. Just try it you won't do any harm. Good luck.
