  1. And whats to say that a) that person didn't have insurance (most horse owners do out of choice and more are made to by their yards) and b) that the accident wasn't caused by an idiot driver who didn't obey the highway code and give the horse the appropriate space. Nice to see your concern for the rider there too
  2. Sorry, PC's been on the blink. Sounds like a good idea for weekend/mon though
  3. Jess, will PM you my number, drop me a text to let me know you've got it and we'll organise something
  4. s'alright, used my noggin and multimapped it, all makes sense now.
  5. Hallam's a good 20-25 min from rivelin though, I live between the two. Is Eckington out chesterfield way?
  6. That all sounds like a fab plan. Don't think milo's been in a box for years, although he'll do anything for food (and I mean ANYTHING). How far is eckington from Rivelin, I've only lived in sheffield a few years and never really got to know that side?
  7. Hmmm, I quoted that badly, I was aiming at Jess as she's more my neck of the woods, I don't think the little orange one will hack that far
  8. Does your yard have any spare stables or winter grazing because we are a stable short this winter (erm....that'd be mine then) and don't have 24/7 TO nov-april.
  9. If I can get there I will, if I can hold it together long enough, will be mine and pony's first EVER show. Thanks for the sponsorship by the way, means a lot.
  10. Can I be cheeky and ask how you'd be getting there? I was meant to be going to hallamshire but my lift's horse is out of action, just pondering whether there might be some box space for a small fee?
  11. Thought it might be you, then looked at your website and realised it definitely was. I'm the girl you chatted to the other night when you werewalking your two out. I keep Milo at the next yard up. I have to say I think your dun is stunning, if you suddenly find him swapped for a small ginger pony I was NOT responsible
  12. I'm not sure which news report you are referring to, but the incident in question definitely happened on vincent road, it was about 10 doors up from my house. The link posted higher is an unconnected (probably) incident from a while back. As for the Nether Edge/Sharrow debate, the imperssion I got when buying my house was that vincent road just about straddles the two, the top I would refer to as Sharrow the bottom is closer to Nether Edge, either way, its the same place
  13. From what I hear, it sounded as if she knew the person involved. Again, I don't want to go into details, and the fact that she knew them is no consolation to her, but it makes me think it is less likely to be linked.
  14. Yes, thats the one, although personally I find alot of the recent trouble has been visiting us, rather than coming from here. Samsmum, I obviously don't want to cause any problems for whoever was involved, but rest assured, the lady was in safe hands last night and was physically well.
  15. When exaclty are people going to stop looking to blame the [insert current party here] council and open their eyes a little. As someones already said the post office closures have nothing to do with the labour council, and certainly aren't helped by the fact that no one uses them anymore. (letter vs. text message, lets think what the majority choose) As for gridlock, how about taking some responsibility for your own actions, and before you start on the public transport (which is a damn site better than nottingham's BTW) what about bikes, car sharing, walking. And the flooding-have you looked up-its coming from the sky, the whole city has pulled together to help, and I dare say this includes councelors (who are actually also human and affected). And dare I remind you this is [apparently] due to global warming, so how about turning the light off behind you! I haven't ever voted Labour, who knows if I will, but whatever he party, we can't expect them to have super human powers, the dea is, we ALL work together to make this city, nay world, and its about time we stopped looking to blame someone else Rant over
  16. I'm not 100% sure as did not see it as it happened and as such don't want to speculate. To be honest, from what I heard I mainly feel thankful for this. I can only guess how she must have felt, I was shaking in bed for an hour afterwards. She deserves no end of credit for the way she reacted, I offered her a safe place to wait for the police (as the only other female around) but I think I was more of mess than her.
  17. No, I'm aware of that, but the OP quotes that is was 'a group of wheelchair users' and surely if they were purchasing the car surely it would have to be adaptable to the needs of a wheelchair user. Incidentally, you do have to have a mobility difficult to qualify for this scheme and I can't imagine anyh of these cars being suitable for conversion based on my training.
  18. have you ever been to Leeds and seen the state the place gets left in and the toal mayhem on all transport links around the dates. Trust me, we are better off making the short trip up the M1
  19. I can't help but wonder how they adapted a ferrari or a lambourgini to be suitable for wheelchair use. I am surprise that such vehicles are included in the scheme anyway.
  20. I will edit it, but i would have expected there to be more than one person with this name, so I did't expect it to be an issue. Thankfully a lot of people were out to offer help when it was safe to do so. Sometimes in this way it is the 'rougher' areas that have the best community spirit.
  21. Sadly, it appears a lady was attacked just down our road last night. I was woken by her screams and called the police. Although she said afterwards she was only shaken, I just wanted to wish her the best and hope she is OK. I'm sure someone will know of her.. Vicki
  22. My boss at work (on Abbeydale road) passed this just after it had happened on his way to switch the alarm off (set off by the p/c) and said that the drivers of the one car had fled (beleived to be stolen) and the guy in the other car, looked in a poor way, complaining of chest pains, haven't found anything on any of the news sites though so hoping no news is good news. I'm assuming it is probably the same idiots who have recently taken it upon themselves to set fire to their taken-and-then-discarded motors opposite my house on Mount Pleasant park, and just wish they get what they deserve before they hurt anyone else.
  23. yeah, she seems to be, we painted the dinig room yesterday and she was totally content to just lie under the table out of the way and watch. Provided she knows mum and dad are there she's happy (we found her asleep, next to her bed, in a while of our dirty clothes)-which is what makes it all so worth while
  24. More photos from the proud mum to prove just how friendly our pouch really is. Chilling out with dad Playing tug of war with mum I won-time to eat the rope Blade came to play (and bizarrly the old man seemed to win....repeatedly) Too much fun....time to snooze We spent Saturday evening (once it was quiet) getting very muddy at Rivelin valley;. Poppy was far to excited by sticks and balls to try and attack anyone but came back to us when we called her anyway. Sadly, however, she now stinks-the river was a bit too tempting!
