  1. But for a couple both working £180 shouldnt be too hard to find. If both are working thats only £90 per week each or £4680 each per year. Well under the minimum wage.
  2. So everyone who private rents or owns a home has been born into a priveledged position? Grow up. These people are no different to you except they get on with it.
  3. We considered buying a house there before we bought ours in Foxhill. We visited the estate at various times of the day and night before deciding to have a look at the houses. We looked at four houses on the estate of varying layouts. They are all a little on the small side but no smaller than any comparable new build. They are nicely fitted out and have reasonable sized secure rear gardens. The only reason we didnt buy there was because we found our house which we fell in love with. The houses on the streets you are looking at should be a good investment. They are putting a lot of money and time into improving the local area and things can only get better. Dont listen to the hype from people who know nothing about the area. Go there yourselfs and talk to your potential neighbours, make up your own mind.
  4. They wont do. Its the lender that repossesses property not the estate agent.
  5. Try writing a letter to the landlord explaing your circumstances, but please try and leave the text speak out of it. Good english counts for a lot.
  6. We lived on Abbeydale Road for many years and we loved it. You quickly get used to the traffic noise and it doesnt bother you after a while. It is very convenient for all of the shops and public transport. Car parking can be a problem in some areas.
  7. No i just dont like people who waste the time of others. Especially people leading vendors up the garden path. Playing with peoples homes isnt a game of monopoly.
  8. They take as long as they take. There is no hard or fast rule. Chains tend to take longer as there are more parties involved. Lesson for next time, look at the sellers and buyers situation. This time you just have to sit it out or pull out.
  9. No because the majority of FTB actually buy a house. You have spent months on here doing nothing.
  10. No, because both you and i know that you are not going to buy it. Therefore you stay in the window shopper category.
  11. A 10% cut in government costs is no bad thing. They have too many people doing too few jobs. Its about time they had a cull. If people are falling behind on their mortgage payments it is because they cant afford their house and shouldnt have it in the first place. All lenders give home owners every opportunity to find alternative arrangements, take payment holidays, switch to interest only mortgages short term. They repossess as a final resort. It is a costly process. Interest rates will rise. This is inevitable. As the majority of homeowners are on fixed rate mortgages it will have little effect until remortgage time. People on tracker rates will switch to fixed rates and those on SVR will have small increases in their payments.
  12. I wont hold my breath then. I shall await the post tomorrow that the "other current bidder" has completed out of the blue
  13. How do you come to that conclusion? Some proof would be nice
  14. Does sound an odd way of buying a house. What if you dont like the house but the buyer has to sell?
  15. So stop moaning. Maybe i shall ask my bank who i am paying for my home to refurb it:loopy:
  16. There are safety standards. None on cleanliness.
  17. It is of course no real suprise that you have yet to buy. You have no intention too.
