  1. We've had ours for a year or so think its great. We use it 3 or 4 times per week and it cooks really well. If I get another one I would get the largest I could though ; ours is a bit small really (just fits a 2 /12 lb chicken). I have seen the one one telly at £54.99 and am seriously thinking of upgrading and taking our small one to our caravan.

  2. How long it takes for a criminal record to become spent depends on the sentence she received. If there was no prison sentence it would probably be 5 years, although this is usually halved if you were under 18 when convicted so could well be classed as spent now.

However certain professions are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act including ones dealing with vulnerable adults (including elderly people). She may as well tell the prospective employer up front about her conviction as it will show up when they do a CRB anyway.

  3. Well I went along on Saturday and to be honest was not that impressed. It cost me £18.00 to get in, the pitch looked like one half had been ploughed, and the seats seemed to be miles away from the pitch. Also 3/4 of the ground was totally empty and so there was very little or no atmosphere. I guess that athletics stadiums don't make the best footie grounds. Hopefully the new ground will be much better.

That said, as a Port Vale exile living in Sheffield, I was happy with the result.

  4. Call the office and leave him a message that his mum / dad / brother / sister has had a heart attack / stroke / car crash and has been rushed to hospital and if he wants to see them again, he'd better get down there quickly.

He'll split his sides as he screeches into the Northern General and sees you stood in the lobby holding a sign saying "April Fool"

  5. "Es geht doch nichts über einen Schutzengel" means "You can't beat a Guardian Angel" or "There's nothing like a Guardian Angel"

"der einem Beine machen" is a way of saying to give someone a push or a gee up to do something i.e encourage.

Overall it seems to be "You can't beat a Guardian Angel who pushes you along". However have rang a friend in North Germany who has never heard of it so it may be a regional colloquialism.

  6. Any emails that we are sending to @hotmail.co.uk are bouncing back and not being delivered but mails to @hotmail.com are going through fine. This is even if we are replying directly to an email which has been sent to us which is often the only contact details we have for people.

Any ideas why this is happening and what we can do about this please ?
