  1. My bold. Covid cohort wards at the Northern General (during the height of all the lockdowns). Though I do agree with you (to an extent) on the mask issue. They've changed the guidance now - smacks of shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted... The blue surgical masks are used in operating theatres. There is a degree of protection in terms of reducing spread of particle exhalation.
  2. Upset, obviously. But I wouldn't be advocating them having a jab they didn't need. They (and I) are able to weigh up the risks/benefits and make a decision. Balance that against how I would feel if they died or were left seriously ill from a virus they could have been vaccinated against. As I said, all treatments have potential side effects. For example, the contraceptive pill and even pregnancy carry more risks of causing a blood clot than the Covid vaccination. Yet these are quite commonplace...
  3. Covid has serious issues connected with it but you seem content to ignore all those stories... Any treatment (or vaccine) carries the potential for side effects. It doesn't automatically mean the risks outweigh the benefits.
  4. Level? Have you ever done Hillsborough Parkrun??!!! πŸ˜† There's a festival being set up there now...
  5. Likewise the treatment was "just" keeping his oxygen levels up...
  6. I told you before and you ignored it, why should I tell you again? If you look back through the thread you'll find itπŸ‘
  7. My bold - Didn't you? I notice you completely ignored my response back then (from the first post quoted here, to be clear), presumably because you didn't want to know that people are actually sick and dying from this virus. Doesn't fit the narrative, does it?
  8. You forget, he only believes the evidence of his own eyes. Yet, when offered first hand experience for his claim that 'no-one on this thread knows anyone who has died from Covid-19', he ignores it...
  9. Just picking up on a few points, without replying to individual posts... Look up pre-emptive prescribing in palliative care. It appears I work with a child abuser, according to some on here. Two of her teenagers have been vaccinated, and the younger one is going to be soon. She's immunosuppressed, and wants her children to be able to go out without bringing home a virus that she's not protected against. Cancer patients are getting treatment. If we only accept direct experience as evidence here, I've recently lost a friend to cancer, and she was getting treatment throughout. Long covid is a thing. There's even a long covid hub in Sheffield. The Guardian is one of the only major newspapers that offers its online content free. Links can be posted that everyone can read because it's not behind a paywall.
  10. I did answer, you just chose to ignore it...
  11. How do you know cause of death in that situation? Were you there? Do you have medical qualifications and can certify death and cause of death? It's possible to be admitted with one serious illness, to then contract Covid and for that to be the actual cause of death, perhaps with the other serious illness as contributing factor.
  12. I don't know why you assume it's the MSM that's told me this. As I said, that section wasn't a direct reply to you, the posts got merged by the forum, but hey ho. Anyway, I know you don't believe MSM or peer reviewed scientific research, so I used anecdotal evidence of what is actually happening here in Sheffield. I suppose that's all lies as well though, isn't it. I can't believe people can be so wilfully obtuse and unable to understand there is more going on in the world than occurs within their own experience.
  13. I didn't want those two posts to be together, as it's not all a reply to Dr Tops, it's there a way to stop them merging?!
  14. I've seen well over 100 people die from Covid-19 (sorry I can't remember the exact number) but expect you will call me a liar for claiming that, because you don't belive in this virus and I'm therefore 'deranged' and a 'loony'. I find it somewhat reassuring that of the people currently in hospital with Covid, those who are seriously ill are the young, unvaccinated, and the elderly (with all those underlying conditions) seem to be doing OK. I realise that sounds like I'm revelling in someone's distress - I assure you all I'm not - just that the vaccine does seem to be working...
  15. I don't think I've seen anyone without a mask at NGH, staff or visitors, on the wards or on the corridors between. Oh, except for one lady who was signing for someone else, and she was wearing a visor: I remember noticing because it was so unusual to see someone without a mask. I think we're back to wearing visors in certain circumstances as well, though that does seem more patchy.
  16. No problems. I was just searching for the post to re-read it. The search is still whirring!
  17. Ah, I must have missed the part about your son, sorry. I assumed you were then one of the fortunate people who could afford private medical care.
  18. Aren't you the person who said they hated the NHS and would never use it unless they were desparate? Do you think that you can tell, from a snapshot wander around, whether someone is "busy" or not? Because you know so much about what each and every one of their job entails that you can tell at a glance if they're busy or not?
  19. Or learn to swim, to protect yourself?
  20. Another one who thinks if they can't see something for themselves it must not be true. Why people should be dropping dead in the street to make this a real pandemic is an argument I can't understand. It's really not just a cold. I can say that from seeing it directly myself, not from the devilish MSM, so does that make it valid?!
  21. My bold. Excuse me? You don't even know what you've written, do you? My point is that bursitis can occur in many areas of the body (well, wherever there's a bursa). Just because you'd never heard of it before doesn't mean it didn't exist until now, or that's its created by this vaccine...
  22. Ah, the old "end of" response. Well that's me done then isn't it, if you've decided it's "end of", - perhaps because, subconsciously you recognise how weak your arguments are. Would it help you to know that I've seen the effects of Covid with my own eyes? Does that make my information as reliable as yours, even though I've seen something different to you (which seems to be the basis of your ideas)? The bursitis could be due to the vaccination, but that can happen with any vaccination in that area, it's to do with where the needle goes rather than what's in the vaccine. Incidentally, trochanteric bursitis is fairly common in pregnancy, perhaps people should stop getting pregnant just in case.
  23. Sigh. My bold. You really don't understand evidence based practice, do you? One person looking around and thinking "huh, I can't see anything wrong so everything must be fine" doesn't stand up against large scale studies with enough numbers to show statistical significance. Mind you, weren't you the one who had never heard of bursitis yourself, so concluded it must be caused by the vaccine?
  24. Oh my good lord. I hope no one was out after dark last night, under those biologically toxic street lights 😳
  25. So, no trams. Buses will be "very busy, so make alternative arrangements". Hmm, what are those alternative arrangements going to be? Guess that's why the bottom of Herries Road looked like match day this afternoon! It's all very well promoting using active travel and public transport to reduce environmental costs, but then it's unavailable...
