I have been looking at wood burners. I love real fires and the burners can kick out a lot of heat. Do people normally keep them lit overnight or let them go out and relight them the following day? Are they usually used as occasional heaters?

I contend that we are all atheists. I simply believe in one fewer God than many other people. When they understand why I dismiss all the other possible Gods, they will understand why I dismiss theirs. I have reached the conclusion that the world is an enigma. It is a harmless enigma made terrible only by our own mad attempts to interpret it as though it has some underlying truth.

I have had a good year. I am financially secure which is really good. I could be a pretend tory ten bob millionaire type but fortunately I have a social conscience.

I mean that Sheffield which has just about managed to exist in a state of "equilibrium" for many years is now changing. The tory boys are changing it by starving it of funds.

I know someone who worked for 30 years in social services in Sheffield. She was made redundant by tory scum cuts . When she went to claim contributions based JSA(which she had PAID into) she was treat like a foreigner.

Do you think that truly inspirational personalities like Jess are not special? This thread for me is about really special people who are capable of taking on the world and beating them at whatever they choose to do. It is not about binmen or nurses. A word about perspective. If Jess had been a nurse she would have been Florence Nightingale.

I think that we need only to look at some of the posts on here about what has happened over the Christmas period to realise that the tory boy created Sheffield is in melt down.
