Does Sheffield need a proper Chinatown?
Sheffnews12 replied to Green Web's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I see that Sheffield Forum has changed a lot. Didn't realise that it had been taken over by trolls .... -
What's going on with Virgin Media?
Sheffnews12 replied to Darth Vader's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
We had problems with the Virgin V+ box, they have bought a cheap replacement ... and the pic quality is different. Not sure about the phone, but the internet is working fine. -
The IKEA in Sheffield thread
Sheffnews12 replied to StrawDog's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I've noticed this too .... -
I always find home cooked is the best, and its one of the easiest things to cook. A nice sandwich is chicken, bacon, tomato, lettuce on toasted wheatgerm bread with a little bit of heinz mayo. Better than anything you can get in a shop, and because the bread is small, always do two sandwiches (4 slices)!

HP is the best brown sauce. I always add my own sauce to my buttie.

Sheffield is what you make it. At least there are opportunities to educate yourself, see great countryside, be part of the music, the arts ... there are good and bad places to be, but that's like anywhere these days. I would rather live in Sheffield than live in London.

Damon's Restaurant, Crystal Peaks
Sheffnews12 replied to sweetie1985's topic in Going out in Sheffield
I think Damons is great. If you are going for the ribs. I don't rate TGI Friday tho. I found their food greasy. -
The equipment stolen has affected your work, and income, and its a ball ache to replace what is stolen ... I totally understand and feel for you. But don't expect any sympathy from users of this forum or help. Some of the replies to some threads on here are shocking!

Advice needed - where to avoid living in Sheffield
Sheffnews12 replied to longlegs's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Moving to a new school and home no matter how good will disrupt the learning of your children. Do the right thing. Stay where you are and do the park and ride thing, so they can continue to learn in a place that they are comfortable in. If they are happy, keep them where they are. Its easy to drive and park and ride. There are many places that you can park near to Sheffield where you can get a bus or tram from, or walk! Or park at Meadowhall and catch the tram. If you can afford the 950 k house, then move to the nice area's and hopefully, your kids will get in the school nearest to you that is desirable. Its a shame that certain area's get tarnished on this thread, but all the areas that have been suggested all have high priced private housing (and no council properties or housing association properties) ... if that is what you want, then go for it (if your budget allows you to). -
What is Southey Avenue like?
Sheffnews12 replied to foxydebs's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I have a friend who was burgled when they lived on Southey Avenue many years ago ... but it seems quiet now during the day. Not sure what its like at night. -
I have thought the same thing .... and even though the art is good, (although I would not know seeing as tho I always see the blank side when I drive past), I wonder how much this has cost? .... at a time when other services that are more in need are being cut... And the blank side is an open invite for graffiti ....

If i had been on the bus, the kids would not have been spitting for long.

There are campsites near to Castleton ... and if the weather is nice, its the best place to be! -
Just highlighting that people should travel in pairs at least to be safe.
