  1. I'm not familiar with the tram layout so didn't realise that you meant meadow hall x
  2. We have a very nice car, but I can't drive. I prefer to be chauffeured. Thanks for the advice guys, its appreciated
  3. That's actually a great idea, never thought of that one thank you
  4. We are looking to move anyway for personal reasons so decided we may as well do it to coincide with me starting uni, rather than having the stress of moving once I've started my studies.
  5. I take it you don't even have kids then, otherwise you would have them on your avatar unless you put your dog first. We just want to move somewhere that's suits us all, don't call me selfish when you don't know me. I have chosen Sheffield as I had offers from derby and York but Sheffield was the one that caused the least disruption!
  6. Thank you, that's all I want lol, a constructive answer.
  7. Yes I'm wanting to move the whole family to Sheffield but need to be in catchment for a decent school. Commuting to Sheffield on a daily basis would take up at least 3 hours a day; taking the car is not an option as I'm told there is very little parking so it would mean a bus ride to Rotherham from Maltby which takes 45 mins at peak times then a 20-30 minute bus to sheff then the same to get home. To be quite honest the responses I've had on here in the space of an hour are putting me off coming to Sheffield at all lol x
  8. I live in Maltby and yes the last time I checked commute meant travel to/ from
  9. Budget and geography aren't problems I just want to be closer than I am now to the uni to cut down on commute times, therefore freeing up more of my time for family. The main considerations are schools, my two youngest are both in secondary and currently attend an excellent school that is notoriously difficult to get places at so it would be silly to move them to a lower achieving school.
  10. I am due to start Sheffield university in September so am looking for family accommodation in Sheffield. I would appreciate some advice on where to avoid, I'm from Rotherham so know the obvious ones like Manor, Whybourne, Pitsmoor etc. Also on the opposite end where are the desirable places to live in Sheffield?
