  1. Hi my eldest 2 boys have only just started using the tram alone. they are 10 and 9, they go from Halfway to Hackenthorpe ( there dads house ) they know what to do and both have mobiles. i feel it gives them a sense of responsability and im proud they do so well and never had a problem, Every child is differant and its up to you as a mum to make that decision, i think 2 stops is fine and like you say, she knows what to do/where to get off etc,, the first time you let her your heart will be in your mouth but after that youll both be fine good luck
  2. sounds like a right example to her children! she has no right in doing what she did, I see it alot at my local primary school, parents going mad at other parents because their child has hurt their child etc etc. Its pathetic. You should sit with your child and find out exactly what's happened between the 2 children at school and go see the head ( i know you have done already ) Im sorry you have had to go through this, bet you were terrified and especially in front of your kids, then having to leave them in school while your in such a state. I hope it gets resolved for you quickly and you have no more trouble
  3. sounds like you need to be strong and kick them out, they/she/he will bring you down to a point of no return, get rid whilst you can. you have tried to help and hasnt worked by the sounds of it
  4. go to http://www.turn2us.org.uk/benefits_search.aspx
  5. have just had a quick look at their website and no pictures or anything just want your details and you to sign up like that. But for the montly price I don't think thats a bad service. thats how the membership can be so cheap. I pay £30 a month at sam jones and yes they have receptionist, staff, phone etc, all of which I dont use other than to say good morning / thankyou / bye etc. I would rather pay less and just get in do my routine and go. but Im no where near hillsborough.
  6. At 15 I had 3 jobs, paper rounds and a glass washer/collecter at weekends in a local working mens club but times have changed, I wish you luck in finding a job that you like. you sound well motivated so well done
  7. Just curious as when I arrived at school with my little ones this morning there was hardly anyone there? the teachers blamed the weather and people not wanting to go out in it. I thought that was bizarre but then again I only live 2 mins walk away from our school. I left school at half 9 as there was a parent assembly and both my kids classes were only half full On the other hand I wasnt very enthusiastic about walking the dog when I got in but I had too otherwise she'd have weed on the carpet
  8. A long story, basically we have a small extension to our kitchen, on the roof of the extension is felt ( i think ) when we moved in we had an old rotten porch way taken down and since then the roof in the extension has been leaking. it started off a little but its now really bad. I have climbed out the bedroom window every day to re cover it in tarpolin and brush and water off, Last night a huge bit of plaster fell off the ceiling, the remainding plaster is wet & cracked. the ceiling is 'dipping' as though there is trapped water there and Im scared the whole lot is going to come down through the pressure of the water, What can I do ? a relative has told me to drill holes in the bit that's dipping to release the water that's trapped but I don't think the plaster is strong enough and I have visions of the whole lot falling down ? Any advice would be great. thankyou
  9. someone will probably also find a fence panel in their garden this morning as mines gone during the wind
  10. we paid £4 and the service was spot on but we moved house and they don't come round here :-( the window cleaner around is rubbish I asked him to clean our windows then went shopping. got back he's pushed a card through & the windows still had filth marks on them.
