Anyone go to the Ladyzone gym/health club?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. Just want to let you know all about the new gym on Ecclesall Road South next to Somerfield because it's not a convential gym and people are asking. We've also got a HALF PRICE enrolment fee only until the end of Feb. Just call 0114 268 68 41 now to book a FREE guest visit. We also give a 10 day money back guarantee including enrolment fee (no catch).

LadyZone “your 30 minute relaxed workout” is unique because it offers you what many other conventional gyms cannot:

Comfort - Members and staff do not need to be young, lean, lycra cladded and mirror obsessive! On the contrary members and staff are regular people achieving common goals with a no-mirror policy. Also the non-intimidating 10 station circuit with simple to use, comfortable, non-aggressive air-resistance equipment creates a friendly atmosphere.

Personal Attention – You receive a full introduction to the 30 minute relaxed workout, a personal consultation and close contact from then on. An individual programme will be devised for you by a fully qualified instructor and a review of this programme will take place every 6-8 weeks to measure your progress. We will also monitor your heart rate, blood pressure and body composition to ensure that your fitness is progressing as well as your figure. With two fully qualified gym instructors to assist and motivate at all times our personal contact cannot be beaten.

Effective Use of Your Time – Our appointment-only circuit based workout means that members never have to wait for equipment and there are never more than 10 members on a circuit at any one time. This allows a more regular exercise with the total workout time at only 30 minutes easily managed into your lifestyle. It is proven that when exercise is performed little and often it provides the best results.

Money Saving – Without the overheads involved in maintaining saunas, pools and masses of equipment LadyZone “your 30 minute relaxed workout” is priced at nearly half the cost of most health clubs.

Friendly Atmosphere - All exercises are performed in one large room with women like you working together, to reach similar yet personal goals using a variety of equipment. This creates a very social and motivating atmosphere. We believe that achieving your goals is easiest with the help and motivation from our qualified staff and encouragement from fellow members.

Membership fees are £28 per month payable by direct debit or an up front payment of £264 (this is a saving of £72). Membership not only gives you unlimited use of the gymnasium but you will also receive a full consultation (and regular reviews) from our fully qualified personal trainers that covers fitness, nutrition and we also provide an optional consultation with our Lifestyle specialist because often the reasons why people try and fail with their fitness regime is not necessarily the gym but the barriers we face in today’s hectic lifestyle. The cost break down of these consultations alone totals approximately £175 but as a member of LadyZone you get these as standard.

Opening times: Mon – Thu 9am - 8pm, Fri 9am – 6.30pm, Sat 10am – 2pm, Sun 11am – 2pm

LadyZone “your 30 minute relaxed workout” top ten benefits:

1. Ladies-only.

SEXUAL DISCRIMATION WOULD NOT BE TOLERATED IF THIS WAS A MALE ONLY GYM!

I'm afraid you get a big thumbs down here!

The big spoiling point is yet another rip off annual fee.

What we need is a true pay-as-you-go gym, where you turn up, pay your session fee and thats it. Why should I pay ÂŁ30 odd a month for the privilege of maybe using the gym once a week? Or more? Or less?

Ladyzone also require you to 'book in advance' for a session, when you finish one - how plausible is this for most people? Not very practical at all.

So a 'Ladies only gym' is a great idea, just too restrictive as it currently stands. A friend and I were looking forward to being able to make use of the 'Ladyzone' opening in Middlewood but sadly, that's not going to happen now the finer details have become apparent!

I'm a member and I am really glad I joined. However it won't suit everyone. The gym is really geared for people who want to be fit and healthy but not go mad about it. If you want to be able to run a marathon then it's not worth it but if you want to tone up and lose some weight then it's great. I have noticed a difference in myself going approx 3 times a week since it opened in June. It is quite expensive but I think it's worth it. I'm one of those typical fad exercisers, for instance I have a treadmill at home gathering dust but Ladyzone is so convenient for me and I can't use the 'I'm too busy' excuse as it literally does take 30 mins and you don't have to queue for anything. They have changing rooms, shower if you needed to use it and a water fountain in the gym area. I was a bit worried that they would oversubscribe it and it'd get too busy like other gyms but whenever I've wanted to go I've always been able to get a time slot within 15 mins of the time I wanted. You don't feel intimidated at all during your session either and if you get stuck using a machine there is always an assistant there to help.

If you want to ask any more about the gym I will check this post again in the next few days. I noticed your post when I was still deciding whether to join or not but I am really glad I joined. I'm going to stop going on about it now before it sounds like I'm earning commission from them!!

Anyone been? Is it as basic as it sounds? Friend who has never been a member of a gym is keen to go as she says she feels she would not be intimidated but the facilities sound very basic in the press. Tks.

In answer to your concerns Henrietta:

1. At Ladyzone we pride ourselves on getting results from members who have tried and failed in the past using diets or other gyms. Not only does the 30 minute workout make results more likely but also we need a level of commitment from our members so that in return we can give them our full commitment including a full induction and regular reviews. As a result we do charge a one off enrolment fee and do not do pay-as-you-go schemes.

2. Our fees are only ÂŁ22-ÂŁ28 a month!

3. Most of our members book in advance because a) it gives them more incentive to turn up and b) they are guaranteed not to wait. Some of our members do not book in advance and merely phone before hand or just show up. As a result on some occasions they may have to wait a few minutes before starting their workout.

I quote our members:

"I have now lost 6 pounds in three weeks but I'm more impressed by the inches I have lost all over my body. My confidence has grown and I can't wait to achieve my target weight before Christmas.'' - Gill, Sheffield

"This is the first time I have ever enjoyed being in a gym. It is effective, comfortable and doesn’t produce the aches and pains any previous gym work has resulted in.'' - Jan, Sheffield

“I have lost 8 pounds and 4% of my body fat since I joined 4 weeks ago.

I have never achieved anything like this in past” – Charlotte, Sheffield

“The idea of a 30 minute workout is excellent. It is easy to fit into a busy lifestyle. Staff are friendly and always on hand to help and advise.” - Lynne, Sheffield

“I love the fact that I can come on the way home for half an hour and not waste an entire evening. Also, I am not paying for everyone else’s extra facilities.” – Ali, Sheffield

“I absolutely love it, I’ve finally found a workout that I can sustain, at a gym I enjoy” – Gill, Sheffield

“Cheerful atmosphere. Professional and helpful instructors. I look forward to attending and feel quite energised afterwards. It is really good exercising throughout the week. The time scale fits in really well with everything else you have to fit into a day. Thank You.” – Helen, Sheffield

"For the first time ever I really enjoy coming to the Gym. I don’t feel intimidated or silly. Everyone is friendly and helpful, 30 minutes is enough for someone like me who is middle aged and not very fit, but I already feel better for coming." – Lynne, Sheffield – (Middlewood Road)

"Lost a few inches, but more importantly I know I am much fitter. Blood Pressure has gone down and I don’t get out of breath so quickly. I’m enjoying it so much." – Margaret, Sheffield – (Middlewood Road)

"I’ve finally managed my first 5 session week today!

I’m totally hooked and really look forward to each session. Let’s see if it shows on Wednesday with my 2nd review!!" – Hayley, Sheffield – (Middlewood Road)

SEXUAL DISCRIMATION WOULD NOT BE TOLERATED IF THIS WAS A MALE ONLY GYM!

To be fair though, I can't see a Men only gym being popular, if it was then someone would have set one up.

Women can feel intimidated, and simply want to be around other women. In gyms you always get the following types of blokes

:heyhey:

:wow:

 <-- as the lycra clad lady goes by (put yer eyes bak in)

Ladyzone caters for a need, if you think there is a need for a male only gym, set one up and find out
