DaBouncer
Hiya, My wife was driving down the M1 today and the soft top has been damaged. It has a gash in it about 2-3 inchs, in the plastic back window section (not the roof felt or anything). Does anyone know how much it would cost to repair it? What sort of repair is involved? Would it need to be replaced do you think? If it helps - it's a BMW Z3. I don't want to take it to a BMW garage cos they'll charge me the earth to repair it. Cheers for any advice. alchresearch
There is a good place in Rotherham, who supplied a new roof for my Escort Cabrio. I can't recall the name though but I will try and dig it out. It's really poor that a quality car like a Z3 has to suffer with a plastic rear window. I've had a few cabrios and the glass rear window is much much better. DaBouncer
Will it need a new roof do you reckon or can it be repaired somehow?
alchresearch
No, they can usually replace the back window. I had a 205 cabrio with a damaged back window and it was carefully removed from the rest of the hood and replaced.

pietro
You could try these guys for a roof repair. Sheffield Trimming Co. 0114 2448033 Very near to Don Valley stadium, an old established Sheffield company. I've had a few cars re-upholstered by them, top quality work. James7x7
Hey Da Bouncer - just found this old thread. Similar thing happened to our car (old 3 series) on Friday. Did you manage to get your rear windscreen replaced? If so where, and would you recommend them?
Cyclone
Wow, do they call you the necromancer I was talking to a dealer recently and apparently there are companies that will replace the plastic portion. It's cut out and a new one is sewn into place with a zip that allows for it to be replaced in the future.
