SheffieldForum
The Supertram network in Sheffield will undergo essential repairs, causing a nine-day service disruption. Rail replacement engineering work will begin in the city centre after the last tram on Friday evening, 24 May, and will continue until the start of service on Monday morning, 3 June. During this period, trams will not run between Fitzalan Square/Ponds Forge and the University of Sheffield. The Blue Route will operate exclusively between Malin Bridge Park and Ride and the University of Sheffield, running every 20 minutes during the day. Similarly, the Yellow Route will provide limited services between Middlewood Park and Ride and the University of Sheffield, also operating at 20-minute intervals. To accommodate affected passengers, tram replacement bus services will run between the University of Sheffield and Shrewsbury Road, situated behind Sheffield Railway Station. Additionally, the Netherthorpe Road tram stop will be repaired and will remain closed for the duration of the works. Passengers should plan their journeys accordingly and expect reduced frequencies and alternative transport options during this time. HeHasRisen
Be plenty of trams running in service along the third cord on the Park Square roundabout interchange then.
BigAl1
reducing the frequency is a sign them saving money at the expense of customer service. In the past the service would terminate at Shalesmore making the reversal simple and the bus connection easier

In the past the service would terminate at Shalesmore making the reversal simple and the bus connection easier It's likely the service will go up the hill from Shalesmoor to the University on the "wrong side" but given it's off road running and the stop halfway up the hill is shut, it doesn't really matter. Plus it maintains some form of service to the University and hospitals. Only one tram likely to be able to occupy the line between Shalesmoor and University as a result. HeHasRisen
Edit time ran out, but that last sentence will be the reason for trams only every 10 mins on the part of that route the lines share. Another reason would be that part of the network is going to be cut off from the depot and they have the issue of trams being cut off for 10 days, they won't want any more trams stuck there than they need. A tram every 10 mins likely be fine, it's half term that week. Edited May 10 by HeHasRisen

From Middlewood it is every 20 minutes. in the past they have always turned round at shalesmore so why not now

It's been explained to you why a normal service likely can't be maintained with the depot being cut off for days.
