A Day Out In Stocksbridge?!

Recommended Posts

Stocksbridge...what comes to mind when you read that word? The steelworks? The haunted bypass? How about a destination?

Stocksbridge has something for everyone. Enjoy a drink in The Friendship, explore the woodland on Alpine Road, bask in the scenery in lucious fields over the bypass. If retail therapy is your thing, how about a trip to Fox Valley complex? With stores such as SeaSalt and Home Bargains, there are prices to suit all pockets. Why not enjoy a tipple in the Micropub on the way out?!

Sounds worth a visit,  I always thought SeaSalt was a shop in Cornwall,  probably as I bought  items on ebay once.

Locals with an extra digit used for pointing in wonder at horseless carriages.

I jest, it's good for a couple of hours, there are a few charity shops, a museum in the town hall, a stone circle over the hill at Ewden...

Back in the 70's the most inappropriately named pub going - "you're not from round here, going to kick your head in" would have been better suited.

Yes, it can be quite rough in some places.
