Recommended Posts

Just been told that Chapeltown railway station is closed due to a lady falling on the track and being struck by a train. I don't know any other details.

I understand that she walked off the end of the southbound platform and was struck by the 12.05 from Leeds to Nottingham train.

Well let's hope she is ok

unfortunately she has died

You really have to feel for the train drivers when these things happen.

Her family should be in our thoughts at a time like this.

.. and some never work as drivers again. Have you any idea of the effect that seeing someone fall in front of your train knowing you can't do anything to avoid hitting them has on someone?

It's good that the driver does get support though. I can't imagine what it's like for the driver. But let us remember, a woman has died for -whatever- reason.

RIP to the woman and I hope her family can get through this tough time. And I hope that the driver can find a way to understand.

So sorry to hear of this lady's death; I hope she rests in peace. My thoughts are with her family and friends and also with the train driver
