Best areas to buy a house

Recommended Posts

You think that Mosborough is in Sheffield?

It wasn't even in the same county until 1973.

The OP mentions some areas. See if you can spot how many of them are ex-pit villages and how many are suburban Sheffield city.

Meersbrook, parts of Nether Edge, Sharrow Vale/Hunter's Bar, Greystones, Crookes, Nether Green, Walkley (I don't mention areas like Fulwood, Millhouses, Dore etc. because they don't have this kind of housing stock).

I can help you out. There are zero villages in that list, it's all Urban to Suburban city.

So based on that, the OP has zero interest in living in a pit village outside Sheffield and instead wants to live IN Sheffield.

Although you are quite clearly the oracle on this subject the OP asks for opinions on best areas. No more no less.

And Mosborough is quite clearly in Sheffield. Whether it used to be is another matter.

"In" must mean something different to you.

It's in the Sheffield postal district, but in no way is it in the city IMO.

Yes it does. It's in Sheffield. It's not in the City centre or the immediate vicinity... Glad that's been cleared up.
