I've never heard of a warning light for toxic fumes on a car

is it a diesel or a petrol, you really need to rear the car manual before posting stuff up.

You have no idea what that light means and the rest of us can only guess.

It's petrol and I did look at the manual and the symbol says toxic fumes warning light and I don't know what it means that's why I was asking if anyone knew!!

Lambda sensor or possibly EGR valve??? - sounds like something to do with emissions.

Well whatever it was it seems to have sorted itself out after a good run today, thanks anyway.

Probably just a bit clogged up then and needed a good run to clear it.

A quick flick on Google says that does happen, and a good blast is needed to clear it out.

You might be getting some carbon buildup inside the engine which could cause it to happen more often, so keep an eye on it.

Have you thought about getting some redex or similar product ?

I believe there is also a service to De carbonise the engine but only saw this on a tv show maybe a year ago.
